We have done many things to make the Cherry Grove Campground more accessible, but due to the natural landscape there will be areas that may be difficult to navigate if full accessibility is needed. We have done what we can to make sites as flat as we can without destroying the natural beauty of the land. There are some sites that would be difficult to navigate if full accessibility is needed, however, we have made significant strides executing our ADA plan to remove barriers that we can. For instance, here are some things we have done in the last 5 years.
1.) We had Corporate Communications in Rochester NY audit our website to make it WCAG 2.0 compliant. Though there are only guidelines, no law that states how the website must be designed, we have done everything we can to be inclusive as possible. Every year Corporate Communications continues to audit our site to ensure its compatibility with many of the screen readers out there.
2.) We have implemented several accommodations for ADA accessibility including: a cabin built on cement pad entry and grab bar in bathroom; ensuring our bathhouse is ADA accessible; a ramp to our recreation hall; and the use of gravel for access roads and RV sites.
If our campground is a place you might like to try and you're hesitant, we would be glad to send pictures or video of anything you would like to see ahead of booking.
